Doctors and psychiatrics warned from a new type of depression which affects adolescents generally and facebook users particularly.
Doctors say –according to American Academy of Pediatrics- that such these social networks create an unreal world around the adolescent to live in which may cause
some sort of loneliness away from his real world which is around him so, any sort of negligence from his social networks followers may cause him a great psychological harm which may be more than any real negligence. Also, the passion of the adolescent towards his friends’ reactions to what he posts, photos or links can put him under great psychological pressure , also digital annoyances through internet and loss of secure privacy sometimes may cause deep social and psychological problems and may lead them to have aggressive reactions and may lead to suicide.
The research team said that social networks interfere to a great extent with the social duties at home, sleeping and physical activities of the adolescents. Also, parents must try to understand the way such these social networks work to be able to cope with their children in their digital world. They also said that such these sites and social networks present an unreal perspectives because the user doesn’t see body language or any facial expressions from other users which have a great role in better communication and understanding more than words and photos.
